Bandits have attacked Allawa Community in Shiroro local government area of Niger State
Sources say no life was lost in the incident which happened around 2 am on Sunday.
However, the bandits had rustled all cows, sheep and other valuables.
According to reports from eyewitnesses, the bandits had deviated from their usual manner of shooting sporadically to announce their presence.
Numbering over 100, residents of the community had scrambled for safety upon citing them and are now taking refuge in Pandogari village.
The bandits had then gone from one house to the other, stealing cows and sheep.
The withdrawal of security operatives had followed the killing of six security operatives during an attack last week.
The bandits had burnt down the base of the operatives along with their vehicles.
The Niger State Government in a statement had described the withdrawal as necessary, for the operatives to re-strategize.
The State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello called for calm among residents of the community.
He assured that the residents will not be neglected by security operatives.
